Shutting off Politics, Kind of...
I got sucked into the politics rabbit hole on twitter and youtube. I am making the conscious choice of detaching myself from it. I will eventually know the outcome. It's not vital for me to see it happen in real-time, like a spectator sport. I have the gist of what is going on, and what the predictions are. Time to move on with my life. A show that I loved to watch is "Rising" on youtube. Their perspective is more establishment vs. anti-establishment in politics, and thus, they have a unique take on the whole thing. As intellectually interesting as it is, it did become a rabbit hole I went down and got addicted to. So I am weening myself off, just catching a glimpse of the main point. News media of any variety want you to tune in, and to tune in often. In the Attention Economy, it is how you get your message spread. But for the consumer, it is important that we moderate our consumption, for our own health.
